For the worn-in texture of the garments, the design team used various fabrics such as chiffon, silk jersey and cotton voile that were washed down to achieve a soft hand. In addition, the collection’s color palette reflects the image of a sun-drenched beauty traveling the world. Divided into three deliveries, the Ocean consists of indigo, violet and lilac; the Earth, a mix of rust, orange and yellow; and the Sun, a brighter showing of pink and lavender.

For the Mens Spring/Summer 2008 Collection, Maione drew inspiration from the vibe of the protest movements of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He referenced images of the movement’s icon John Lennon as well as the young hippies whose “uniform” included jeans, wovens and old military jackets. These were then translated into the Collection’s staples: indigo cargo pants and cutoff shorts, washed down linen and cotton wovens and fitted military jackets in cotton and leather. The Collection’s color palette includes neutral tones such as moss green, desert brown and stone.
The t-shirt collection for Spring/Summer 2008 also pertains to the protest era. Each shirt represents modern day issues one might avow today such as the need for alternative fuels and putting an end to deforestation. To achieve the worn-in look and feel, the shirts were made from the softest washed down cotton and the graphics were discharged onto the shirts creating a textured appearance.

Established in 1993 by co-owners Gerard Maione and Seth Weisser, What Comes Around Goes Around has been an innovative leader in the vintage clothing market since the opening of its flagship Soho boutique. After more than a decade spent expanding the company and traveling the globe in search of the best vintage clothing and fabrics, Maione and Weisser turned their experiences into design inspiration with the creation of the What Comes Around Goes Around Collection, a contemporary line for men and women.
Designed with a vintage aesthetic and lifestyle in mind, the collection is distinctly modern, with a vintage edge. Each season carries influences from the late 1960’s to the early 1970’s, with the garments reflecting aspects of mod, bohemian, rock n’ roll and British genres.
